The guide introduces systematic terminology work and provides essential information on the key principles, working methods and stages of a terminology project. It contains several examples of concept relations, definitions and graphic concept diagrams. | |||
The printed version of the first edition of Sanastotyön opas was published in 2006 and the second edition in autumn 2012. In autumn 2024, the third, revised edition was published, only this time online and available for everyone on the Finnish Terminology Centre’s website. | |||
Concept diagrams presented in UML (Unified Modeling Language) were added to the third edition, and the traditional concept diagrams can now be found in the appendices. Some examples were revised and some terms were changed in the process. Instructions on the handling of terminological data were also updated, and some small changes were made to the text overall. The revisions to the third edition of Sanastotyön opas have been approved by the heirs of Heidi Suonuuti’s estate. | |||

Sanastotyön opas is a Finnish translation of Heidi Suonuuti’s Guide to Terminology.
